ISLAMABAD: Few opposition parties members walked out from the Public Accounts Committee’s last meeting out of fear.
Amir Dogar, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister and a member of the Public Accounts Committee, also confirmed that they had left due to Corona.
According to the details, in a last meeting of the Public Accounts Committee on Wednesday, Sherry Rehman, Khawaja Asif and Hina Rabbani had left. PTI’s Noor Alam Khan had objected the presence of several people in the room.
While, committee chairman Rana Tanveer Hussain had said that the PAC meeting should not be long during corona days.
Speaking to News360, Khawaja Asif, the central leader of the Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) said that he did not leave the meeting because of Corona.
“I had only mentioned yesterday in the meeting that five fellow members were suffering from corona”.
When he was asked if he had expressed concern over the rapid spread of the corona virus. In such a situation, would it be right to hold public meetings on opposition alliance PDM’s call?
He replied that he can’t say anything about it and it is PDM leadership’s prerogative to take final decision.
Among the Member parliament, who have recently fallen victim to the corona virus are Senator General (retd) Abdul Qayyum, Former Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf.
Daniel Aziz’s wife Mehnaz Akbar, Musaddiq Malik and Naveed Qamar, besides Qamar Zaman Kaira and Captain (retd) Safdar.
By June this year, more than 70 Pakistani parliamentarians had contracted the corona virus, eight of whom have died.

In others, Punjab Assembly member Shaheen Raza Cheema, Balochistan Assembly member Syed Fazal Agha, Sindh Minister Murtaza Baloch.
National Assembly member Munir Orakzai and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly member Mian Jamsheduddin Kakakhel.
Punjab Assembly member Shaukat Manzoor Cheema and former Balochistan Minister Dur Mohammad Nasir are included.
