Outcome of mission’s visit to Pakistan will not be discussed in board meeting, said IMF team member

Senior Pakistani Journalist and Writers’ Bureau Chief Gibran Pesh Imam says that the delegation visiting the IMF has said that the outcome of the mission’s visit to Pakistan will not be discussed in the board.

According to Gibran Pesh Imam, the head of the delegation says that virtual discussions will continue in the coming days to finalize the details of the implementation of these policies.

Gibran Pesh Imam wrote in his tweet that this means that the IMF mission still needs clarification regarding the implementation of the agreed policies.

The mission has said that considerable progress has been made during the mission on policy initiatives to address domestic and external imbalances.

According to Gibran Pesh Imam, the key phrase of the IMF statement emphasized the need to strengthen the fiscal position through “sustainable revenue measures”, which appears to be one-off measures and taxes to fight the fire this year. There will be no shortage.
