Pakistan authorities to collect Nawaz Sharif’s medical records in London
Authorities will also seek opinion of Nawaz Sharif’s physicians regarding his health condition whether he is now able to travel or not.
LAHORE: After deciding on moving to the Lahore High Court (LHC) against Shahbaz Sharif over ‘fake’ undertaking, the federal government has now planned to collect medical records of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif in London, said sources.
Sources told News360 that the federal government has stepped forward to repatriate Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) Quaid Nawaz Sharif from London. They said that Pakistan High Commission in London will seek medical records and health history of Nawaz Sharif.
Moreover, the authorities will also seek the opinion of Nawaz Sharif’s physicians regarding his health condition whether he is now able to travel or not.
Earlier, Fawad Chaudhry had said that the federal government decided to approach the Lahore High Court (LHC) against Shahbaz Sharif who guaranteed the return of the former prime minister.
The Federal Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry had said in a press conference in Karachi on Sunday that the attorney general was directed to ask the LHC to order the repatriation of Nawaz Sharif or take action against Shahbaz Sharif for submitting a “fake” undertaking of his elder brother.

In his previous media statement, Fawad Chaudhry had said that the government is likely to finalise an agreement with the British government to bring back Nawaz Sharif.
Earlier on December 29, the federal government had decided to file a petition against PML-N President Shahbaz Sharif who became guarantor for the former prime minister in a plea seeking permission to travel abroad on humanitarian grounds for receiving medical treatment.
The development was witnessed amid the speculations of Nawaz Sharif’s planned return to Pakistan in January 2022 after finalising a deal with power centres.

In November 2019, the LHC had granted permission to Nawaz Sharif for travelling abroad for medical treatment for four weeks besides ordering the federal government to remove his name from the Exit Control List (ECL) without any conditions.
The federal government had placed a condition of indemnity bonds for Nawaz Sharif’s travel permission to get the go-ahead for auctioning his properties if he fails to return to Pakistan. However, the PML-N had rejected the government’s ‘biased’ decision ‘based on revenge politics’.
It may be noted here that Nawaz Sharif had departed for London for his medical treatment on November 19, 2019, and never returned.
