Pakistan Reassures Protection of Minorities on National Day

The government handed over the vandalized Hindu temple in Rahim Yar Khan after restoration a day before Pakistan celebrated the national day for minorities.
The mob had vandalized the temple in Bhong town of Rahim Yar Khan district in Punjab.
MNA Dr Ramesh Kumar Vankwani, who is the patron-in-chief of the Pakistan Hindu Council, also visited the worship site and performed rituals with dozens of other Hindus.

Sources claim that the main cause of the mob violence was in reaction to the alleged desecration of a Muslim seminary in the town.
The videos of the dreadful incident had gone viral on the internet and the whole nation joined the chain of censuring it.

The government took immediate notice of the incident and booked some 50 people involved in damaging the Hindu worship site while 8 policemen were also suspended over negligence.
The Supreme Court (SC) had also taken notice of the tragic incident and expressed grave concerns.
Prime Minister Imran Khan had also condemned the vandalization of the temple besides other ministers.

Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry had said that the act was against Islamic teachings and the government would not spare those involved in it.
