It analyzed anti-state trends on Twitter that were run between 2019 and 2021.
The report unearthed the bond between domestic and international groups to dissuade and discredit the state institutions.
It added that various groups in Pakistan have undisguised support from foreign elements which helps in giving credence to the fake news as well as the required boost to run such trends on Twitter internationally.
The dossier identified that the activists of the Pashtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM) worked as a tool for fulfilling Indian and Afghan desires to speak ill of state institutions.
Information minister revealed PTM initiated 150 trends against Pakistan between 2019 and 2021 under which as many as 3.7 million tweets were published.
The movement also backed #BalochistanSolidarityDay on Aug 14, 2020, he added.
Fawad said that analysis showed trends such as #PTMExposedFakeTerrorism, #DaSangaAzadiDa, #BalochistanSolidarityDay, #TyrantPakistanArmy, #Armybehindtargetkillings, #RapistArmyinBalochistan and #PakistanArmyKillPashtuns were run on the microblogging website with support from India.
The minister said that tweets by Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) under a specific campaign got huge support from India while trends ran rife implicating that Pakistan wasn’t a safe country for women after the criminal instance of Noor Mukaddam killing.
NSA said that India and Afghanistan are attempting to put the onus of the current situation in the war-torn country on Pakistan.
He said that some 800,000 tweets were posted under #SanctionPakistan trend and 20,000 of them were from PTM activists.
Yusuf said that Afghan Vice President Amrullah Saleh, NSA Rehmatullah Andar and Defence Minister M. Bismillah also put their share in it.
Earlier, a comprehensive report by EU Disinfo Lab titled ‘Indian Chronicles’ had unveiled some 845 websites used for generating and propagating fake news against Pakistan.
News360 had also covered various instances involving prominent journalists who portrayed specific situations against Pakistan.
Naya Daur TV, Ungli TV, Voicepk.net , etc are some of the digital platforms that have been observed to actively participate in building anti-state narrative.
On the day of revelations, the Corps commanders conference was also held in which the evolving situation of Afghanistan and its regional impacts were reviewed.
