Another proud moment for the country as a Pakistani immigrant in the United States (US) has just been confirmed as the first Muslim American federal judge in history.
The blazing Pakistani, Zahid Quraishi, won by a Senate vote of 81-16 and will serve as US federal judge for the District of New Jersey.
BREAKING: The Senate just confirmed Zahid Quraishi to serve on the District Court for the District of NJ.

Quraishi, 46, is a former federal and military prosecutor and had previously worked as an assistant US attorney, assistant chief counsel with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), and a prosecutor with the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps.

He also served two tours with the Army in Iraq in 2004 and 2006.
“Judge Quraishi has devoted his career to serving our country, and his story embodies both the rich diversity of New Jersey and the promise of America as a place where anything is possible,” said Senator Robert Menendez during a speech on the Senate floor before the confirmation vote.
As per details shared in Dawn, he was born in New York City and raised in Fanwood, New Jersey by his parents Shahida P. Quraishi and Dr. Nisar A. Quraishi, immigrants from Pakistan.
Zahid received his bachelor of Arts from the John Jay College of Criminal Justice in 1997 and his Juris Doctor from Rutgers Law School in the year 2000.
