Pakistani universities are becoming a rising star in the global race of higher education as they marked their names in UK’s ‘Times Higher Education’ rankings in 2022.
The Times Higher Education Impact Rankings is the global performance index that assess universities against the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
These assessments are done across four broad areas including research, stewardship, outreach, and teaching.

The statistics show that 36 private and public Pakistani universities got featured in the rankings.
Federal Education Minister Shafqat Mahmood reached out to his Twitter handle to share the achievement and congratulated the PTI government for its rigorous efforts.
“We are among top-5 nations for improvements in research citations and industry links”, he wrote in the caption.

Moreover, Senator Faisal Javed Khan said that the University of Agriculture Faisalabad is now ranked top 24th globally for climate action.

According to the rankings, the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) featured in the 300 rank band.
University of Agriculture Faisalabad and COMSATS University Islamabad featured in the 400 rank band.
University of Lahore and NED University of Engineering and Technology are in the 401-600 rank band.
Moreover, Fatima Jinnah Women University, Jinnah Sindh Medical University, and the University of Sargodha are in the 601-800 rank band.
Iqra University, Dow University of Health Sciences, and Quaid-e-Azam University are in the 801-1,000 rank band.
