Pakistan’s Evacuation Efforts Are in The Global Limelight
The country is playing a vital role in extending its help to different countries, strengthening its goodwill
While rescuing people from Kabul, Pakistan has become a cherry-picked country for the global entities and they are praising the country’s endless evacuation efforts.
Although the US military flew approximately 10,400 people out of Kabul over 24 hours on August 22 via 61 coalition planes, Pakistan is also playing a vital role in extending its help to the global community, strengthening its goodwill.

Recently, European Union (EU) and Asian Development Bank (ADB) sought help from Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) to pull out nearly 420 persons from Afghanistan.
EU Ambassador to Pakistan Androulla Kaminara wrote a letter to PIA Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Arshad Malik to assist them in difficult times.
She requested him to arrange a special aircraft for evacuation of members of an EU delegation and their dependents stranded in Kabul on humanitarian grounds.

Further, she requested Pakistani authorities to let passengers leave the aircraft and stay some days in Islamabad.
Moreover, German Ambassador to Pakistan Bernhard Schlagheck raved about the Pakistani authorities for their tremendous cooperation at Islamabad International Airport (IIA) in rescuing German citizens & local staff from Afghanistan.

In addition to it, International Monetary Fund (IMF) Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva has also recognized Pakistan’s efforts.
“I especially appreciate the instrumental roles played by Pakistan’s Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Finance, and Defense as well as State Bank Governor Baqir”, she wrote in the letter to Prime Minister Imran Khan.
