Parliament Lodges raid: Will sedition case against Shahbaz Gill take another turn?

The raid and recovery arose questions about whether the matter will be resolved now or whether the Islamabad police will continue to investigation further. In which direction will the case go now?

According to details, under the supervision of SSP, Islamabad Police raided the room used by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Shahbaz Gill in Parliament Lodges. Handcuffed Shahbaz Gul was brought there by the police.

During the investigation, the SSP raised the question that Imran Khan’s allegations against Islamabad police for sexually assaulting Shahbaz Gill. To which Shahbaz Gill verbally confirmed the allegation of the PTI and said, “I was sexually assaulted.”

During the search, a red diary, an American-made pistol, a satellite phone, a smartphone, two passports, identity cards, currency notes, documents and other important items were recovered from Shahbaz Gill’s room.

Gill said that the things in my room have been changed which means that someone came here. He denied owning the red diary and pistol that were recovered from his room. “I have seen it for the first time, two gunmen were staying in my room, maybe they own this pistol. I have an AK-47 rifle which is also licensed.”

Islamabad Police also searched Shehbaz Gul’s room in Punjab House, but nothing was found there as his belongings had already been shifted to Parliament Lodges.

Police officials said that they were searching for the script of Shahbaz Gill which was read by him on a private TV channel.

A USB was also recovered during the search of the room. Moreover, his wallet which was missing has also been recovered, two ID cards have also been found in the wallet, and apart from this two passports have also been recovered.

On this occasion Gill told the journalists that he does not know how the wallet was found in the room because he had left the wallet in the car. He said that his purse was usually carried by his driver and the room where the pistol was recovered was used by his bodyguards.

While answering the questions of journalists, Gill confirmed the claims of PTI chief Imran Khan that he was sexually assaulted in police custody.

Sources say that Shahbaz Gill’s Parliament Lodges room has now been allotted to Senator Abdul Qadir.
