LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League Quaid (PML-Q) top leader and Punjab Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi and Awami Muslim League (AML) chief Sheikh Rasheed came out in support of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan.

Speaking to Geo News programme Capital Talk, Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi warned of serious consequences if the coalition government decides to arrest PTI chairman Imran Khan.

He predicted that action will be taken against the inspector general (IG) and provincial chief secretary after police opened fire at the participants of the PTI’s long march in Islamabad.

The PA speaker said that the women lawmakers decided to refer this matter to the privilege committee regarding the illegal entry of police forces into the Punjab Assembly’s building without getting permission from the speaker.

Answering a question, the senior politician said that the constitutional and political crises in Punjab will be ended after the removal of illegal chief minister Hamza Shahbaz. He completed rejected the election of Hamza Shahbaz as the chief minister through an illegal process.

In another Geo News programme Aaj Shahzeb Khanzada Kay Sath, former interior minister Sheikh Rasheed confirmed that there was a conspiracy to oust Imran Khan’s government and predicted that the current rulers will definitely face jail in the coming day.

He slammed that he did not believe in such a democracy in which a person becomes prime minister who is facing Rs40 billion corruption cases.

Regarding the inconclusiveness of the corruption cases, Sheikh Rasheed said that there is a face behind any case and an express train never waits for anybody as the passenger will have to reach there at the right time.
