Punjab Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi met Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari in Lahore on Tuesday to brainstorm on finding a method to oust Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) from Punjab, sources said.
It is mentionable that Pervaiz Elahi is the senior leader of Pakistan Muslim League -Quaid-e-Azam (PML-Q) which is part of the ruling alliance in the province and centre. He served as the first and only Deputy Prime Minister of Pakistan from June 2012 to March 2013 when PPP was in power.
Following the meeting, the press release said both political heavyweights discussed matters of mutual interest and national politics and no further details were disclosed.

Sources told News360 that the meeting was quite crucial in terms of the political future of Punjab.
Both leaders showed intent to work together in the future for the achievement of political goals.
Sources confirmed that Zardari and Pervaiz Elahi also brainstormed on the formation of an alliance in the next elections against PML-N.
The measure is aimed at jolting PML-N in Punjab as both leaders believe that unimpressive performance of the incumbent government would make room for other parties in the next polls.
Both leaders also discussed different corruption cases under adjudication against the former president.
It added that Asif Zardari also praised the services of PML-Q President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain in national politics.
