The famous Hayatabad food street in Peshawar has been sealed after the completion of the lease.
Peshawar Development Authority (PDA) officials said the food street will remain closed until the new agreement. PDA officials said that the contract’s duration was from 2018 to 2021.
However, the restaurateurs have criticized the authority and said they didn’t receive any prior notice.

The business owners said they would have renewed the agreement if the authorities had informed them about the expiry of the contract.
They demanded immediate reopening of the food street, contending that hundreds of employees work there.
PDA officials said they were aware of the problems faced by the businessmen and assured that the contract would be renewed soon.
The food lovers have also demanded the government to reopen the site as soon as possible so they can visit it with their families.
