Peshawari Chappal is becoming increasingly popular all over the world including Pakistan.
The Peshawari Chappal is a type of chappal that is widely used in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and especially in the North West and Central regions with shalwar kameez.
Peshawari Chappal is also worn with great interest in various festivals and celebrations. Wearing new Peshawari slippers on the occasion of various festivals in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is part of the tradition.
However, it is especially important in Eid and weddings.
Peshawari Chappal is now increasingly popular in other cities of Pakistan besides Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. There is a growing trend among young people to wear it with jeans.
The Afghan Shoe Shop in the city of Peshawar is a decades-old shop now known as Kaptaan Chappal.
According to shop owner Chacha Noor Din, his shop dates back to 1962, but the shop’s popularity grew when he gifted a pair of Peshawari slippers to former prime minister and PTI chairman Imran in 2014.
Since then, the trend of “Kaptaan Chappal” has started all over Pakistan which is still very popular today and people loves wearing Peshawari Chappal with Kaptaan Chappal style.
In an exclusive interview with News 360, Uncle Noor Din said that besides Imran Khan, other senior federal ministers and provincial political leaders, elders, correspondents as well as civil and military leaders also booked a special order of Peshawar Chappal from here.
He further said that even now the President of Pakistan Dr Arif Alvi has ordered special Peshawari Chappal for Eid-ul-Adha. He further said that he wanted to make Peshawari Chappal known all over the world.
