Prime Minister Imran Khan has rolled up sleeves to curb unruly inflation and in a bid to do so, he has once again revised his strategy and interacted with people to counteract agitation.
The inflation rate hit 9% percent mark in March ahead of Ramazan which the masses believe to be a consequent of International Monetary Fund (IMF) policies.
Prime minister interacted with the public over telephone on Sunday and a female caller from Islamabad decried rising inflation and sought ‘permission to ‘worry’.
The caller said the inflation was on the rise despite the rupee strengthened against the dollar asked the premier to either control it or let them ‘worry’.
Ghabrana Nahi Hai (You don’t have to worry) has been Imran Khan’s catchphrase ever since he took the office of the Prime Minister in 2018.
Shouldering the opinion, the premier blamed ‘mafias and cartels’ for the recent hike in prices of daily-use commodities.

He also urged the masses and judiciary to cooperate with him in the fight against corruption.
Reconstitution of Economic Advisory Council
Further, Imran Khan has made changes in his economic team to curb inflation.
The government has decided to include Shaukat Tarin in Economic Advisory Council (EAC) which was first constituted in August 2018 and had 18 members.
The reconstituted 25-member council, comprising 13 private members and 12 government officials, will now be led by the Prime Minister himself. Previously, the council was chaired by the finance minister.
The finance minister will now assume responsibilities as the vice-chairman of EAC and will lead it in the absence of the Prime Minister.
The measure has come after ex-finance minister Hafeez Shaikh was shown the door partially due to constitutional barriers and mostly because of his inability to control inflation
Senior journalist Kamran Khan has also appreciated the restoration of EAC and expressed confidence that it would be able to take measures that would alleviate economic woes of people.
