PM Imran Khan says ‘will show threat letter to senior journalists to expose foreign plot’

PM Imran Khan has announced to show the threat letter to the senior journalists for exposing the foreign plot against Pakistan.

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has announced to show the threat letter to the senior journalists for exposing the foreign plot against Pakistan.

PM Imran Khan, while addressing the launching ceremony of the e-passport facility today, announced that he will now show the threatening letter to the senior journalists to prove that a conspiracy is being hatched against Pakistan for adopting an independent foreign policy.

Sources told News360 that PM Khan will show the content of the threat letter to some senior journalists including Meher Bokhari, Fereeha Idrees, Arshad Sharif, Khawar Ghumman, Dr Moeed Pirzada and Shahzad Iqbal.

The premier said that the no-confidence motion is a constitutional act and it is not unusual to see political ups and downs in a democratic environment. He added that he will advise the ally parties once again not to become part of the global conspiracy against the country.

Multiple letters, a reality

The threatening letter received by PM Imran Khan-led Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government was actually sent to multiple key personalities of the state institutions, sources told News360.

“Not only single, but multiple letters are also a reality. It was also a reality that the no-confidence motion against PM Imran Khan was brought to the National Assembly (NA) just after the threatening letter.”

The premier informed the government spokespersons yesterday that he was threatened to face serious consequences in case of the failure of the no-confidence motion.

It may be noted here that PM Khan had made revelations about a threat letter sent to his government after he attempted to adopt an independent foreign policy and after he said ‘absolutely not’ to the US government for military bases in Pakistan.

He had made the revelations in March 27 power show in Islamabad ahead of the NA session on the no-trust move in which he claimed that foreign hands were involved in the attempts to topple the PTI government. He had also criticised the dual standards of the European Union (EU) during his speeches at public gatherings in different parts of the country.

PM Imran Khan had also claimed about some Pakistanis colluding with the foreign powers to topple his government.

Sources said that prior to the tabling of the no-confidence motion, Hussain Haqqani had met Nawaz Sharif in London on March 5 followed by the former NDS chief who had also held a meeting with Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) Quaid a few months ago.

Voting on no-trust move

It is also important to mention here that the voting on the no-trust move is likely to be held on April 3 at the National Assembly.

The PTI government and the opposition parties are currently busy seeking the support of the government allies after lining up their members of the National Assembly (MNAs) for the crucial political battle in the Parliament House.

Pakistan Muslim League Quaid (PML-Q) had shown their support to the government, whereas, the Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) took the side of the opposition.

The fate of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government is now linked with the decision of its ally party, Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan (MQM-P) on the no-trust move against Prime Minister Imran Khan.
