ISLAMABAD: The newly-elected Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will meet Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan (MQM-P) top leaders during his one-day visit to Karachi today.
PM Shehbaz Sharif will pay his first visit to Karachi after assuming his office on Wednesday (today). Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah will receive him at the airport today.
During his visit, the premier will visit Mazar-e-Quaid along with the leadership of the coalition parties. The purpose of the visit to the mausoleum is to reiterate observance of the golden principles of the Founder of the Nation aimed at the progress and prosperity of the country.
He is scheduled to chair a consultative meeting at CM House to discuss the developmental projects in the metropolis besides discussing the law and order situation in Sindh province.
PM Sharif is also expected to visit MQM-P Bahadurabad headquarters at 2:00 pm today.
It is pertinent to mention here that the MQM-P decided not to join the federal cabinet but aimed to support the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) government without possessing any ministry.
Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui said that MQM had held detailed discussions with the coalition government leaders on this matter. He added that MQM-P is more interested in the fulfilment of the promises made by the allies regarding the welfare of Karachi and other parts of the province.
