PML-N govt starts ads campaign against Imran Khan at state expenditures

The coalition government led by PML-N started running ad campaign against Imran Khan at state expenditures despite facing an economic crisis.

ISLAMABAD: The coalition government led by the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) has started running an ad campaign against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman and former prime minister Imran Khan at state expenditures despite the nation is facing a severe economic crisis.

After failing to present a solution to end the political and economic crises, it is the PML-N government’s apathy as it started running an advertisement campaign to highlight the failures of the Imran Khan-led government at state expenditures, on the other hand, its finance minister is consistently criticising the previous regime for leaving nothing in the national treasury.

After coming into power, the spiritlessness of the Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif-led PML-N is increasing day by day after exhibiting hurriedness to become the frontrunner for the top positions of the present government.

The internal conflicts of the coalition government are delaying the strategy to bring economic stability to the country, whereas, an uncertain situation is created in the capital markets. Yesterday, the stock market witnessed a bloodbath in response to the press conference of the finance minister Miftah Ismail while the US dollar jumped to its highest level at Rs194.

Political analysts said that the ad campaign is seemingly not a good idea of the PML-N government as it should contest the Imran Khan-led political party at its own level through massive power shows like him to build a counter-narrative to PTI.

They expressed surprise that how PML-N is managing the expenditures of the hefty ad campaign if the national treasury is empty. The PML-N should utilise the resources to provide relief to the nation instead of running an advertisement campaign against Imran Khan by using the taxpayers’ money.

They suggested PML-N government take courageous decisions by announcing fresh elections and forming a caretaker setup if it has no further plan to end the economic crisis instead of wasting public funds.
