Last week, the van driver of a private security company drove away with Rs 200 million and Karachi police are still clueless about the whereabouts of the suspect and his teammates involved in the robbery.

The case was registered against the driver at the Meethadar police station on August 9 and today marks the 8th day.

The probe has revealed that the van driver wasn’t alone but other people were also involved in the massive cash heist.

The police have not been able to trace the van driver involved in the robbery neither any of his accomplices.

According to the first information report (FIR), the cash van driver of a security company, Hussain Shah, drove away with the vehicle carrying the cash.

The investigators said Shah hails from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and it is suspected that he looted such a massive amount to fund a foreign terrorist organization.

Few months ago, the accused had issued a certificate of conduct from the Security Organizing System (SOS).

By connecting each detail, it seems like that the gang had been planning the heist for a long time as he wasn’t in contact with any of his family members, reveals the inquiry.

The incident had occurred when the van’s security guards went inside the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) building on the busy II Chundrigar Road on August 9.

Later, the complaint regarding the incident was lodged by the regional operations manager of the cash transportation company.

In this regard, Special Investigation Officer (SIO) Chaudhry Tariq said no substantial progress has been made in the case as the prime suspect is yet to be arrested.

Meanwhile, Karachi police claimed that they have found some evidence in connection with the heist.

It informed that the mobile phone thrown by the accused on Mai Kolachi Road has been taken into custody, however, personal cellular SIM card or any information about his contacts are still missing.
