Shehbaz Sharif Gets Conditional Permission to Fly Abroad

Sharif had moved to LHC to get his name removed from exit control list and sought one-time permission to go abroad for medical treatment

PML-N President and Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif has been granted conditional permission to fly abroad by Lahore High Court (LHC) between May 8 and July 5 for medical treatment. He has apparently distanced himself from politics ever since he was released on bail which gives a slight idea of his next move as he is preferring to meet ambassadors rather than political figures.

During his two days visit to Islamabad, Sharif met Chinese Ambassador Nong Rong and British High Commissioner Dr Christian Turner.

While meeting Chinese ambassador at the Chinese High Commission, Nong Rong expressed good wishes for the former chief minister and said, “Nawaz Sharif is an old friend of China and Beijing does not forget its friends”.

The ambassador appreciated Shehbaz’s visit and added that he already knew of him because of his “Punjab speed” fame in China.

During a meeting with British High Commissioner Christian Turner, regional issues were discussed.

Shehbaz Sharif also appreciated British aid to Pakistan during the coronavirus pandemic.

Following Islamabad’s visit, Sharif had moved to LHC to get his name removed from exit control list (ECL) and sought one-time permission to go abroad for medical treatment.

Hence from the latest unusual moves post-bail, it is being assumed that politically inactive Shahbaz Sharif wants to stay away from local politics for a while and meanwhile preparing for his next move.
