Politicians, Journalists & Religious Scholars Conjoin in Breaching SOPs
A series of events were witnessed on Twitter and people are finding it muddling as the role models for many are acting irresponsibly

Following two waves of covid-19 costing thousands of lives, the virus is resurfacing in Pakistan and authorities are tightening restrictions in several cities but a clique of politicians, journalists, and religious scholars are preaching people to violate SOPs.
A series of events were witnessed on social media and Twitter users are finding it disturbing as the role models for many are acting irresponsibly.
Several public service messages and billboards are posted at various places in order to create awareness regarding the covid-19 pandemic.
However, some influential personalities are busy manipulating these precautionary guidelines.

An example of such manipulation was witnessed in KP as a tightly-packed iftar party was organized by KP Health Minister Taimur Jhagra, where the guests were sitting knee-touched without wearing face masks at Hujra restaurant.
On April 19, the overall tally of Covid-19 cases in KP crossed the 100,000 mark. Yesterday, KP Health Minister Taimur Jhagra held a tightly-packed iftar in Peshawar. Was he celebrating the milestone?

Later, the local administration took immediate action against the restaurant owner and KP health minister for violating the law.
In addition to it, Special Assistant to KP Chief Minister (CM) for Mines & Minerals Arif Ahmadzai has organized a grand iftar in Shabqadar town despite the ban.
Moreover, a get-together was arranged in honor of the newly elected officials of the Khairpur Press Club.

None of the press club members were seen following the precautionary measures against coronavirus.
Renowned Islamic Scholar Maulana Tariq Jamil had organized an opening ceremony for the launch event of his retail clothing brand MTJ held at Mohatta Palace Museum in Karachi on April 3.
Recently, the Islamic scholar has officially opened a flagship store in Karachi with a discount of 20% for the first five days starting April 26.

Unfortunately, Twitter users are very disappointed with such an act from an influential religious preacher.
The list of the events doesn’t end here as a senior journalist and social activist Mushtaq Sarki hosted an iftar dinner at Golf Club DHA in Karachi and many notable personalities attended it irrespective of following SOPs.
In response to this gathering, a Twitter user questioned the club authorities why they were allowing such mass arrangements.
Are clubs allowed to hold gatherings? This is illegal. @MushtaqSarki @DCSouthKarachi pic.twitter.com/v5pB6VBw4W
