The police seized the body of a 32-year-old Filipino woman who was found dead in the bathroom of her apartment in the Upper Gizri area of Karachi.

The police reached the incident site on the complaint of the deceased’s servant.

The woman was identified as Shiela Montano and the jurisdiction police shifted the corpse to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC).

The police have carried out the victim’s autopsy to determine the death cause that appears to be murder.

The south zone police confirmed spotting multiple wounds on Shiela’s body while her neckbone was also broken.

Therefore, the police have registered a murder case against unidentified suspects.

After the autopsy, the body of the Filipino woman found dead in her apartment was handed over to the Philippine Consulate in Karachi.

The police officials said that the deceased was settled in Pakistan for a long time and she was living in a rented apartment.

Shiela’s servant who informed the police about the body will also be investigated by the police.

It has also been learned that the Filipino woman was a cardiac patient and she wanted to return to her native country.

The police officials said they would probe into the income source of the victim along with the purpose of staying in Pakistan.

The locals have called for the Sindh government to look into the rising cases of killing of women particularly in the posh areas of DHA.
