PPP senator opposes govt’s plans to complete constitutional term

PPP Senator Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar opposed the decision of the coalition government to carry the burden of the previous government.

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Senator Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar has opposed the decision of the coalition government to carry the burden of the previous government by announcing to complete the constitutional term.

The federal government decided to complete the constitutional term of the assemblies up to 1.5 year and forming the caretaker government in August 2023.

Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar also shared the bad news of fuel price hike up to Rs30 per litre. He said that the decision to go for International Monetary Fund (IMF) for a loan should have been taken by the new government.

Khokhar, while opposing the increase in prices of petroleum products, wrote in his tweet that petrol and diesel prices are expected to increase further by Rs30 per liter.

The IMF may not be satisfied with the increase, it will have to give a tough budget. The question is, what is the wisdom in carrying the burden of Imran Khan’s failures and bringing the country to the brink of disaster, he added.

The political wrote in another tweet that the decision to go to the IMF should have been taken by the government with a fresh mandate.
