PPP Sends Clear Message to Nucleus of Power
Former key leaders of PML-N including Lt Gen (R) Abdul Qadir Baloch and Sardar Sanaullah Zehri as well as other tribal leaders and ex-ministers formally joined the party on Friday
With inclusion of key political players from Balochistan, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has sent the message to the nucleus of power that it is still part of the power game.
PPP held a public rally in Quetta on Sunday in which prominent former members of Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) including Lt Gen (R) Abdul Qadir Baloch and Sardar Sanaullah Zehri formally joined the party.
The newly inducted leaders also included tribal elders, ex-ministers, and lawmakers from the province.

The power show in Quetta sent a clear message to the nucleus of power that PPP wasn’t carrying the narrative of PML-N as it welcomed leaders from PML-N who had left after Mian Nawaz Sharif had taken the establishment to task and blamed top military brass for his ousting as prime minister in a speech in Gujranwala last year.
The development is expected to send tremors to the ruling government in the province besides a clear message to the nucleus of power.
Former Chief Minister Nawab Sanaullah Khan Zehri is the chief of the Jhalawan tribe while Qadir Baloch is the only three-star general of Pakistan Army who hails from Balochistan after late General (R) Musa Khan.
The political analysts said that the development would also raise the bar of tension for Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) that rule the province in the coalition.
They said that the political heavyweights joining PPP have great prestige and weight in local politics that would help strengthen the party its roots in the province again.
