PTI and PML-Q going to merge soon

After several rounds of talks, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Muslim League Quaid (PML-Q) are likely to decide on the merger of both parties to contest the upcoming general elections.

PTI chief and former premier Imran Khan hinted at the merger of PML-Q into his political party ahead of general elections. In an interview with GNN TV channel, Khan said that he recommended the merger of PTI and PML-Q. He said that they are trying to fight the next election on the same symbol.

The PTI chief reiterated his determination to dissolve the Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) assemblies after the vote of confidence.

Sources said that Punjab CM and PML-Q top leader Pervaiz Elahi is reluctant to merge with PTI, however, Moonis Elahi is strongly backing the decision for the PTI-PML-Q merger ahead of the next polls.

PTI and PML-Q are strong allies ruling in Punjab province, giving tough time to the ruling coalition in the Centre, Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) and other political parties including Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Awami National Party (ANP).

A few days ago, it emerged that both parties held several meetings to finalise seat adjustment.

According to ARY News, the ongoing talks between Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Muslim League Quaid (PML-Q) for seat adjustment for the next general elections were completed.

A three-member committee formed on the directions of former prime minister and PTI chairman Imran Khan held several rounds of negotiations with the Punjab CM.

Former federal ministers Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Fawad Chaudhry, and Pervaiz Khattak represented PTI while Pervaiz Elahi, Moonis, and Hussain Elahi represented PML-Q during negotiations on the seat adjustment.

During the negotiations, PML-Q demanded seat adjustment on 15 National Assembly seats and 30 Punjab Assembly seats. The final decision on the seat adjustment with PML-Q will be taken by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman Imran Khan.
