“PTI Brought Glad Tidings For Education Sector in KP”
A number of projects were launched in KP's education sector while several projects left incomplete by previous government were also focused on a priority basis

“The government’s focus has been on ongoing projects in the education sector, but there has been a lot of work beyond that”, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Minister for Elementary and Secondary Education Shahram Khan Tarakai said while talking to News360.
When the PTI government stepped in, a number of projects were launched in KP’s education sector while several projects left incomplete by the previous government were also focused on a priority basis.
During the span of seven and half years of incumbent government in the province, around 387 schools were given the status of primary institutions, 130 primary schools were upgraded to secondary level and 171 middle schools were given the status of high schools.

Meanwhile, 161 high schools were upgraded to higher secondary schools.
In this regard, assistance was sought from various institutions while finances were met from annual development funds.
The shortage of teachers in the schools was also focused and measures were taken to overcome it. Not only this, the government established laboratories and playgrounds in educational institutions which lacked either or both facilities.
The minister expressed that the main purpose of spending a major chunk of budget on education is to provide modern education to young generation of KP in a bid to prepare them for future challenges.
“The opposition has always accused the government of taking credit for their plans, but this is not the case”, he added.
While talking to News360, the minister told some 12 universities have been set up by the PTI government in the province and practical steps have been taken to promote modern education.
