Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MNA Aslam Khan flouted lockdown orders and hosted valima reception of his son in the Defence area of Karachi amid partial lockdown.
Journalist Faizullah Khan shared a video on his Twitter handle and disclosed the violation before the nation.
He also criticized parallel sets of rules for influential and common people during the partial lockdown.

According to Faizullah Khan, there were around 200 guests in the valima reception which was a violation of the restriction on mass gathering.
He compared that the police reached a similar secret wedding event in the Bahadurabad area on weekend and arrested several people for violating lockdown.

However, Faizaullah lamented that no action had been taken against the PTI lawmaker and there was complete silence.
As the video ran rife, it invited outcry of social media users who criticized the duplicity of the Sindh government as well as PTI.
They took strong exception against the lawmaker’s insensitivity towards the prevailing pandemic situation in Karachi when the positivity rate has surged to over 25%.
They said that the politicians edify people to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) but they held no regard for precautionary guidelines themselves.
Some users said the poor vendors get smashed for violating lockdown orders in Karachi but the influential people are allowed to do everything.
