PTI, PML-N Supporters Thrash Ethical Values on Twitter

Top trends on the microblogging website on Wednesday contained inappropriate terms to identify PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz and first lady Bushra Bibi

As the political temperature in Pakistan boils up, the supporters of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) slid to a point on Twitter par below the moral and ethical standards and values of the society.

The rift between the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and political parties in Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) parties particularly Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) has escalated recently.

The party leaders on both sides have been seen on media passing derogatory remarks against the opponent and at times identifying them with words that can be summarized as indecent, inappropriate, and vituperative.

The supporters of both sides also followed the footsteps of their party leaders and took to Twitter to bash the leaders of opposition parties.

The top trends on the microblogging website on Wednesday contained inappropriate terms to identify PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz and first lady Bushra Bibi.

How did it start?

As per details, the followers of PTI started the trend containing insulting and abusive terms for Maryam Nawaz. The trend laddered to the top within a few hours as PTI is known to have an edge over other parties on social media platforms.

To offset it, the followers of PML-N also jumped in and initiated a trend against Imran Khan’s wife Bushra Monica to counter their opponents.

The unethical and contemptuous trends remained atop on Twitter for hours as followers from both sides endeavored to take lead against each other.

The trend is still running top on Twitter with PTI and PML-N followers aiming at more party leaders from opposite party.

So far, none of the leaders, who otherwise remain quite active on Twitter, from either party have come forward as wet blankets to respectively control unruly followers and supporters.
