PTI still favourite party for next general elections: survey
A survey conducted by Gallup Pakistan comprising 5,000 respondents found that PTI is still the favourite party for the next general elections
The ruling political party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has emerged as the favourite party once again in the Centre and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) for the next election, according to findings of a new survey.
A survey conducted by Gallup Pakistan from December 22 to December 31 comprising 5,000 respondents found that PTI is still the favourite party for the next general elections as 23 per cent people preferred to cast vote for the current ruling party, whereas, 22 per cent went in favour of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N).
According to the survey’s voting intention summary position, PTI is in the top 2 parties in all 5 electoral contests including four provincial and national. The outcomes of the survey showed that PTI is in a leading position in the national and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Pakistan People Party (PPP) in two including Sindh and Balochistan and PML-N in one including Punjab.
10 per cent of respondents favoured voting for PPP and three per cent for Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl (JUI-F).
In Punjab province, PML-N attracted 30 per cent of respondents followed by PTI, whereas, PTI got the favour of 32 per cent in KP followed by PML-N with 15 per cent. In Sindh, PPP is the favourite party followed by PTI.

The preference chart showed that 23 pc respondents chose PTI as their favourite during the next general elections, PML-N 22 pc, PPP 10 pc, JUI-F 3 pc, Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) 2 pc, Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) 1 pc, Pakistan Muslim League Quaid (PML-Q) 1 pc, Pak-Sarzameen Party (PSP) 1 pc, Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan (MQM-P) q pc, Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) 1 pc, independents 1 pc.
Three per cent of the respondents preferred to vote for a new party while 22 per cent preferred not to vote for anyone.
Province-wise vote support
Punjab: PML-N grabbed support of 30 pc, PTI 24 pc, PPP 5 pc, TLP 2 pc, PML-Q 1 pc, JUI-F 1 pc, JI 1 pc, independents 2 pc, 3 pc other parties and 22 pc will not cast votes or indecisive about it.
KP: PTI grabbed support of 32 pc, PML-N 15 pc, JUI-F 9 pc, PPP 6 pc, Awami National Party (ANP) 4 pc, JI 2 pc, TLP 1 pc, Independents 1 pc, 2 pc other parties and 17 pc will not cast votes or indecisive about it.
Sindh: PPP grabbed support of 21 pc, PTI 18 pc, PML-N 9 pc, JUI-F 2 pc, PML-Q 1 pc, TLP 1 pc, JI 1 pc, ANP 1 pc, Independents 1 pc, MQM-P 1 pc, PSP and MMA below 1 pc, 4pc other parties, 28 pc will not cast votes or indecisive about it.
Balochistan: PPP grabbed support of 22 pc, PTI 19 pc, JUI-F 11 pc, PML-N 10 pc, ANP 8 pc, Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) 5 pc, JI, PSP, independents below 1 pc, whereas, 19 pc will not cast votes or indecisive about it.
