Soon after the appointment of new Punjab Chief Secretary Kamran Ali Afzal, the bureaucracy is going to witness another wave of transfers and postings.
According to sources, the names of Saif Anjum and Muhammad Usman are under consideration for the post of home secretary.
There are high chances that 7 secretaries, 4 commissioners, and 8 deputy commissioners (DCs) might be transferred from their respective positions.

Sources said that it has been decided to remove the DCs and other officers who were appointed on a political basis but their performance isn’t up to the mark.
Food Secretary Shehryar Sultan and Irrigation Secretary Saif Anjum are likely to get key positions after the shuffle, a source told News360.
On the other hand, secretaries of minerals and resources, higher education, labor, and livestock, and women development are also likely to be replaced.
It should be noted that these appointments and transfers are being made at a time when Prime Minister Imran Khan is arriving in Lahore on a one-day visit scheduled this week.
Yesterday, a meeting was held under the chairmanship of Imran Khan regarding cantonment board elections and he seemed disappointed with the defeat of PTI in Punjab.
The premier has also sought a report in this regard from Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar, Rawalpindi, and Multan.
