Police attack on Chaudhry Pervez Elahi’s house or plan to sabotage Govt-PTI talks

Police and anti-corruption team raided the residence of Tehreek-e-Insaf President and former Chief Minister Pervez Elahi on Zahoor Elahi Road in Lahore. Along with the raiding police party in vicinity of Zahoor Elahi Road, police personnel in plain clothes were also present.

It should be noted that house of Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi is also in-law of current caretaker Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi, because niece of the former Punjab Chief Minister is married to Mohsin Naqvi.

Condemning raid, Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan wrote on his Twitter handle that “Did the state dare to enter the houses of the Sharifs and Zardaris who are looters and money launderers? I will give the nation a plan of action on how to stand against this destruction imposed on our constitution, our democracy.”

According to media reports, a large number of senior lawyers including presidents of Lahore Bar Association and Lahore High Court Bar are present outside the residence of Chaudhry Parvez Elahi.

It should be noted that the special anti-corruption court of Lahore on Friday pronounced the decision of former Punjab Chief Minister Pervez Elahi on bail in the bribery and corruption case worth billions of rupees.

Anti-corruption court judge Ali Raza extended the bail till May 6.

The anti-corruption court had reserved its decision on Chaudhry Pervez Elahi’s bail application when he appeared before the court after the interim bail period expired. The court had granted interim bail to Parvez Elahi till Thursday.
