The rates of naswar, powdered tobacco dip, in district Dir district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) have been influenced by inflation.
The price of a Rs 10 sachet, which weighs around 70 grams, has been increased to Rs 20 which has left the consumers angry.
The naswar sellers of Dir district in KP signed an agreement regarding the revised rates and promulgated a penalty of Rs 50,000 on violators.

The chewed tobacco sellers have agreed to sell 3 sachets for Rs 50, 7 for Rs 200, and 14 for Rs 200.
The official statistics suggest more than 70% of people in KP chew naswar and the annual market cap of the product in the province is Rs 6 billion.
The consumers have criticized the PTI government over the increase in the price of the product they love to consume and said it is the aftermath of overall inflation.
