Islamabad Gets First Reverse Vending Machine of Pakistan
The vending machine has been unveiled to make recycling easy for people and plastic bottles of any kind and brand can be recycled in it
Prime Minister’s Special Assistant on Climate Change Amin Aslam, in a step forward towards the reduction of plastic waste, inaugurated the first of its kind reverse vending machine (RVM) in Islamabad.
The reverse vending machine has been unveiled to make recycling easy for people and plastic bottles of any kind and brand can be recycled in it.

It is like a reverse machine and the consumers just need to insert the bottle in the given slot and press the button so the machine can start working.

The machine is part of the government’s strategy in collaboration with PepsiCo, the company that announced the country’s largest plastics collection and recycling project under the Prime Minister’s Clean Green Pakistan program.
Amin Aslam at the inauguration ceremony said, “All of us will have to work together to truly address the plastic issue. The RVM machine is a way of making that connection with the public and encouraging them to recycle”.
