Clear signs of Pakistan’s economic crisis started to emerge as the salaries of the Pakistani diplomatic staff posted in Turkey and Belgium have not been paid yet, sources told News360.
This has been disclosed by the diplomatic sources of Turkey and Belgium. Diplomatic sources told News360 that the salaries have not been paid to the diplomatic staff due to which they are facing severe financial difficulties.
They added the staff said that the biggest problem they are facing is that they have to pay their children’s school and college fees, which are not being arranged, while household necessities are a different problem.
Sources told News360 that the entire staff of the Turkish and Belgian embassies and consulates have not yet received their salaries.
The staff said that earlier the salary was deposited from the 1st to the 2nd of every month but this is the first time that today is the 8th but the salary has not been received.
Sources have told News360 that so far only the contract staff have been given salaries. This staff includes a gardener, janitorial, cleaning staff and other staff.
It should be noted that in April 2022, the Pakistani Embassy in Serbia revealed through its official Twitter handle that the government has not paid its salary dues for three months. It was also claimed that children of embassy officials were forcibly expelled from school for non-payment of fees, Al Arabiya reported.
According to a report, in 2020 too, the Pakistani embassy in Washington was facing an alarming situation, as salaries of contract employees were not paid for several months.
A report revealed that local employees were paid salaries from the Pakistan Community Welfare (PCW) Fund.
If we go to the economic outlook of Pakistan, the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) had issued a report in the past few days and said that by the end of October, the amount of loans of the federal government has reached 50.15 trillion.
It should be noted that former chairman of the Federal Board of Revenue of Pakistan, Shabbar Zaidi, during his speech at the University in Karachi, clearly said that Pakistan is almost bankrupt.
