Saleem Safi, while talking to Geo News programme Aaj Shahzeb Khanzada Kay Sath, told the reasons for divergences between PM Imran Khan and his former aide Mohsin Jamil Baig.

Safi claimed that Baig had expressed disappointment over the behaviour of PM Imran Khan and his style of governance, whereas, the friendship took a U-turn after the arrest of Geo and Jang Media Groups’ owner Mir Shakilur Rehman and Dawn News’ Hameed Haroon.

Safi added that Baig had asked PM Khan not to impair relations with media before ending his contact with the premier.

Mohsin Jamil Baig: Journalists start new debate as FIA takes action

The journalist said that the government spokespersons had given misleading statements that Mohsin Jamil Baig had launched a campaign against Imran Khan after he faced rejection to get a contract for a Russian company.

“Mohsin Baig was already aware one year ago regarding the PM Imran Khan’s orders to FIA to initiate action again him which led him to stay in London for months. He then returned to the country and became active against the government. He [Mohsin Baig] has not only criticised the government in the talk shows but also held meetings with the political rivals of the government.”

“PM Imran Khan had thought that Mohsin Baig has activated against him as he was close to Jahangir Khan Tareen and Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) leaders.”

Saleem Safi alleged that PM Imran Khan has also ordered to collect certain contents as evidence against him, Najam Sethi, Hamid Mir, Asma Shirazi and Murtaza Solangi prior to arresting them.

Sources told News360 that FIA cybercrime cell arrested six accused of running indecent social media trends against the First Lady Bushra Bibi and government ministers, however, their names were not disclosed as yet. They added that the FIA cybercrime cell has a list of 80 suspected persons.
