SAMAA TV Ridicules Missing Mountaineer Ali Sadpara

The tragic disappearance of Mohammad Ali Sadpara while attempting the K-2 summit is a heart-wrenching incident for his loved ones but surely not for many others including SAMAA TV, as the whole incident has been ridiculed on the channel during their transmission.

“Self-claimed” Pakistan’s number one channel, SAMAA, in order to garner TRPs has shown a special report in which the anchorperson, Faisal Karim, trying to attempt the summit virtually, impersonating as a mountaineer.

The news segment on-aired, in order to gain popularity, is a sheer violation of media ethics.

The entire nation is worried for the missing mountaineer and putting forward solaces to Ali Sadpara’s families.

The virtual recreation of the whole incident seems an inconsiderate act by the channel.

While ignoring the sentiments of his family, Faisal Karim re-enacted the whole situation through which Ali Sadpara may have gone through.

Notably, many private channels in Pakistan, including SAMAA TV, have ignored the basic codes of ethics in the run to gain ratings.

Even many times previously, the channel on-aired news without confirmation and authenticity and caused uproar in the people.

However, this time, SAMAA TV surpassed the limits with its insensitive coverage of the tragedy.

Apart from the news channel, some hard-hearted citizens are also trying to exploit the situation.

Sajid Ali Sadpara, son of Ali Sadpara posted a tweet claiming that some of the citizens have been trying to collect charity using the name “Ali Sadpara”.

Whereas, actress Armeena Khan along with many other artists expressed concern for the mountaineers and related people.

Muhammad Ali Sadpara went missing last week while attempting a summit on the world’s second-highest peak, K-2. Along with his loved ones, the tragedy left the whole nation aggrieved.
