Netizens demanded PEMRA take action after Rana Sanaullah hurled abusive remarks against PTI chief Imran Khan during a TV show.
Netizens demanded Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) take action after Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah hurled abusive remarks against PTI chief Imran Khan during a TV show.
Rana Sanaullah appeared on a Geo News programme, Capital Talk, hosted by anchorperson Hamid Mir. The journalist questioned Sanaullah about Khan’s speech during a public gathering in which the PTI chief was urging people to expedite the anti-government movement.
In reply, the interior minister hurled an abusive remark during the TV show. His remarks sparked anger amongst the netizens who demanded PEMRA act against the news channel for airing the controversial statement.

This is not first time Sanaullah used foul language against political opponents as he used a threatening tone and objectionable remarks against PTI workers and leaders in his statements multiple times.
This time, Geo News aired Sanaullah’s objectionable comments uncensored during the TV show despite being a recorded programme and the host did not stop him.

It should be remembered that Fawad Chaudhry made an absurd joke about Pakhtunkhs in the ARY News program last week, on which PEMRA issued a show-cause notice to the channel management for failing to implement an effective delay system by taking immediate action. What was it and asked for a reply in 7 days.

It should be noted that the failure to censor Ranasthanaullah’s objectionable speech is proof that the technical staff of Geo News is not implementing an effective delay system. PEMRA’s inaction is also proof of its partially as it has not taken any notice so far.
