SBCA Unscrupulous Officials Reinstated Despite Charges

All the officials who have been put back have been barred from being posted in all eight related towns of Karachi

Almost a dozen Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) employees who had been nominated in the illegal authorization of buildings in multiple towns of Karachi have been reinstated by the Sindh government.

Some 21 of 31 SBCA officials have been reinstated by the Sindh local government department.

All these unscrupulous officials were involved in endorsing illegal structures in eight towns of Karachi.

Interestingly, all the officials who have been put back have been barred from being posted in all eight related towns of Karachi.

In this regard, the notifications regarding restoration of all officials of director and assistant director levels have been issued too.

Two influential directors of SBCA including Adil Umar Siddiqui and Jameel Memon are among those restored.

Sindh local government department has also reinstated deputy directors including Jamal Muhammad, Zaheer Ahmed, and Altaf Khokar have been restored too.

The report of the investigation committee had identified that all these officials had gone overseas multiple times without applying for leaves.

As per the report read by News360, Deputy Director Jamal Ahmed did as many as 30 foreign trips including 11 to the United Kingdom alone and eight to Thailand.

Followed by him, SBCA Assistant Director Imtiazul Haq flew abroad some 16 times on private expenses.

Assistant Director Najamuddin Qureshi went abroad eight times privately followed by seven trips each by Assistant Directors Irfan Ahmed Khan and Mansoor Alam.

Assistant Directors including Zulfiqar Baledi and Zulfiqar Rahu went abroad 10 and 19 times respectively.
