In Punjab election delay case, Supreme Court of Pakistan on Thursday announced completion of hearing after a short hearing.

Chief Justice has said in his remarks that court will give an appropriate order, not issuing any direction or timeline regarding the negotiations.

In his remarks, the Chief Justice said that since the deadlock over the delay in the elections continues, no concrete progress could be made despite our instructions to start talks between the political parties to fix the date of the elections, which led to the election. The destiny of the process is reversed.

According to further details, the case of delay in Punjab elections was heard again in the Supreme Court of Pakistan today. The case was heard by a three-member bench headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Umar Atta Bandial comprising Justice Ijaz-ul-Ahsan and Justice Muneeb Akhtar.

The Chief Justice said that negotiations should have taken place earlier, court decisions are included, the constitution and law are already there.

Chief Justice Bandyal said that the two sides are expected to meet today.

On this occasion, Attorney General of Pakistan Mansoor Usman said that an attempt will be made to hold the first meeting of the two committees today.

Lawyer Shah Khawar said that if both parties agree, a solution will be found.

Farooq H. Naik told the court that the Chairman Senate is only facilitating the talks, which will be between the political leaders.

Shah Mehmood Qureshi told the court that no one contacted PTI or him. PTI has nominated me, Fawad Chaudhry and Ali Zafar for the talks.

Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that the formation of the Senate Committee is a delaying tactic. He said that if the government is serious then we are ready for negotiations, PTI is serious in negotiations and is ready to sit even today.

Farooq Naik told the court that the government nominations for the Senate committee will be decided in 3 to 4 hours.

Attorney General for Pakistan Mansoor Usman Awan told the court that on April 25, PML-N leader Ayaz Sadiq and Khawaja Saad Rafiq met PTI leader Asad Qaiser. Asad Qaiser told the government team that he was not authorized to negotiate.

The Attorney General said that the two coalition parties had objected to holding talks, but a way forward was found. Requested to do so.

On being asked by the Chief Justice, Mansoor Awan said that he came to know from the media on Tuesday that Shah Mehmood Qureshi is authorized to negotiate.

The Chief Justice said that if the government was serious, it would have taken its own steps. The Senate Chairman is neither the representative of the government nor the opposition.

The Chief Justice further said that the court cannot force anyone to negotiate, it only wants the implementation of the Constitution. He said that the court does not want justification but a solution.

On this occasion, PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry said that political parties should not get the power to fix the date of elections otherwise no government will provide funds for elections
