The National Assembly has unanimously passed a resolution against the decision of the Supreme Court of Pakistan to hold general elections in Punjab on May 14.
Member National Assembly MNA Khalid Magsi presented the resolution which was unanimously approved by the House.
In the text of the resolution, it has been said that Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif should oblige the cabinet not to implement the decision of the Supreme Court.
The resolution states that the House expresses concern over judicial interference in political matters. The resolution said that the Supreme Court should review its full court decision.
It has been said in the resolution that the Supreme Court imposed the minority on the majority by its decision. The resolution states that the House rejects the decision of the three-member bench.
According to the text of the resolution, the majority of the constituencies also demanded the formation of a full court. It was not approved and the position of other political parties was not heard. By completely ignoring this clear resolution of the Parliament and the majority decision of the four judges of the Supreme Court, the three-member special bench imposed a minority opinion.
It has been said in the resolution that the Supreme Court has violated its traditions, precedents and procedures and imposed the minority on the majority.
