FIA registered an audio leak case against former Finance Minister Shaukat Tareen immediately after the green signal for the arrest was given by Home Minister Ranasthanaullah.

Federal Interior Minister Ranasthanaullah had said yesterday that the government had given permission to FIA to arrest the former minister.

The cyber crime wing of FIA has registered a case against former federal finance minister Shaukat Tareen under the PICA Act on the complaint of Arshad Mahmood son of Ghulam Sarwar. In the case filed against the former minister, provisions of sedition and incitement have been added.

Earlier yesterday, Federal Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah had said that the government has given permission to FIA to arrest former finance minister Shaukat Tareen.

The Federal Interior Minister said that the inquiry against Shaukat Tareen has been completed and the government has given permission to arrest him, FIA had sought permission to arrest Shaukat Tareen.

Meanwhile, despite the registration of the case, immediate arrest of the former finance minister seems impossible as he has been present for the past one month and there is no possibility of his return after the registration of the case.
