Special Assistant to the prime minister, Shahbaz Gill tagged Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry in a post against the prevalent mendacious claims in the advertisements.
Shehbaz Gill urged Fawad Chaudhry to design a policy to curb such advertisements. He was of the view that 80% of commercial of soaps and handwash claim to protect from covid-19.

Notably, earlier this year, the Competition Commission of Pakistan (CCP) took action against four companies and show-cause notices were sent to Unilever Pakistan Limited, Kennol Petroleum, Dewan Stores, and Japan Lube for misleading consumers about their products.
