Shahdra SHO Caught Taking Bribe
LAHORE; Shahdara Police Station House Officer (SHO) was caught red-handed while taking bribe by the Punjab Anti-Corruption Unit (ACU) on Friday.
Punjab ACU Director General (DG) Gohar Nafees confirmed the arrest and said that the Shahdra SHO Amir Cheema had demanded Rs 200,000 from the complainant, Khalil Bhatti, against arresting murder suspects.
He had already received Rs 55,000 while he was nabbed by ACU while he was receiving the second installment of Rs 50,000 from the complainant. He added that the SHO was caught red-handed by the ACU team while taking the bribe.
DG said that they had put the suspect in the lockup and registered a case against them. SHO would be presented in a local court where the unit would seek his judicial remand.
