Sharif Brothers Hit Opposite Trails After Growing Differences
The party's president was disgruntled with the hostile stance against the establishment after Mian Nawaz Sharif was deposed as prime minister
The latest developments have made the tussle between Sharif brothers over the party’s course explicit and differences between both have become obvious.
Earlier, media reports said that Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) president was disgruntled with the party’s hostile stance against the establishment after Nawaz Sharif was deposed as prime minister.
Her daughter Maryam Nawaz deteriorated the relations between the establishment and party further as she lampooned its alleged role in the electoral process to make the party of choice victorious.
She became the torchbearer of Vote ko izzat Do (give respect to vote) slogan which the deposed prime minister Nawaz Sharif had launched.

However, PML-N President Shahbaz Sharif was against confrontation and rather believed in an amicable resolution of differences.
The tussle ballooned when the party lost in Azad and Jammu Kashmir (AJK) elections and a by-poll in its stronghold in Sialkot.
However, the cracks in the party and speculations of poly narratives have become obvious.
In an interview with Saleem Safi on Geo News, PML-N President Shahbaz Sharif emphasized national reconciliation and learning from past mistakes, apparently hinting towards mending relations with the establishment.

Following his interview, PML-N Chief Mian Nawaz Sharif shared a thread of tweets on Monday and vowed to abide by the hostile stance.
He said that the struggle wasn’t for the sake of few seats but to get freedom from the abrogators of the constitution and for standing on the correct path in history without compromising self-esteem.

Mian Nawaz Sharif added that the attempts to create a divide between PML-N and masses would not be successful.
The statements from the Sharif brothers have made the war over the party’s narrative and course obvious.
It is also being speculated that Shahbaz and his son Hamza may proselytize other senior leaders of PML-N to create pressure on his elder brother on returning to the reconciliatory mode of politics from aggression.
