Shehbaz Sharif Asserts His Authority in Javed Latif Case

PML-N is in a state of war over narrative since the elder Sharif fled to London and the younger one got out of jail

PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif has finally asserted his authority in the party by getting a showcase notice served to MNA Javed Latif who indirectly leveled serious allegations against him and party leaders supporting his narrative.

Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) is in a state of war over narrative since the elder Sharif fled to London and the younger one got out of jail.

Two groups have been formed in the party and Latif belongs to Nawaz Sharif’s camp.

In a television interview, without naming anybody, Javed Latif had accused four to five people in PML-N were on a mission to destroy the party narrative of Vote ko Izzat do (give respect to vote).

He accused them of being on an assignment of the establishment and said those senior leaders deflate the campaigns against the PTI-led government whenever it reaches a decisive phase.

It has been learned through sources that the PML-N president didn’t attend the last two divisional meetings as no action at the party level was taken against Javed Latif who had leveled serious allegations against him.

His silent protests compelled the PML-N chief to serve notice to the leader, who stands by his narrative, on violating party discipline.

The analysts say that it is the first time in months that Shehbaz Sharif has asserted his authority as the president of the party.

They said that it is important for PML-N to comply with the amiable narrative of Shehbaz Sharif and get rid of the hardline taken by Nawaz Sharif if it wants to sustain in the next general elections.
