Shibli Faraz Thumbed Down Pakistan-Made Ventilators
He was of the view that the ventilators made in Pakistan are futile and process only 4 of 16 functions that a usual ventilator performs

At a crucial hour, when Pakistan is facing an intensified coronavirus situation, Federal Minister for Science and Technology Shibli Faraz showed dubious attitude towards the epic achievement of ex-minister, Pakistan-made ventilators.
Fawad Chaudhry introduced a number of innovations including the Ruet App, Electronic Voting Machine (EVM), and Corona Testing Kits when he was at the helm of Ministry for Science and Technology.
However, in a swap of portfolios, the ministry was retrieved from Fawad and handed over to Shibli Faraz this month.

Shibli Faraz, while talking to the media after visiting NUST University in Islamabad on Monday, created ambiguity on the biggest achievement of former science and technology minister.
He was of the view that the ventilators made in Pakistan were futile and processed only 4 of 16 functions that a usual ventilator performs.
“Pakistan is on the verge of oxygen crisis and other medical facilities”, he added.
While commenting on functionality of oxygen plant at Pakistan Steel Mills, the minister said that its activation on immediate basis was also impractical.
The statement comes from the minister at an hour when the coronavirus crisis is gaining momentum in the country and the number of cases are multiplying rapidly each day.
The government in Pakistan is, time and again, announcing to follow precautionary measures to combat the pathogen, however, the statement by Shibli Faraz, under these circumstances, can increase the agony.
