During Shah’s visit to Shikarpur, a local journalist reiterated that according to the chief minister, more than 100 policemen have laid their lives in fighting against dacoits.

However, the journalist went on to say that not even 12 criminals have been executed by the police in response.

He said during the first four months of 2021, some 190 people have killed by the dacoits as well as 10 policemen whereas 63 locals have been kidnapped too.

“You say these are just some dacoits? Will you wake up only after prime minister?”, the journalist questioned Shah.

Other reporters on the site also turned furious and said that the people in Sindh were dying but the government was asleep.

“It doesn’t matter if they are few or many, you have to take action against them”, the reporters said to the chief minister.

Law and order situation worsens

The law and order situation in Garhi Tegho village of Shikarpur remained shaky on the fifth day.

While speaking in a TV program on Wednesday night on Geo News, Sindh Information Minister Nasir Hussain Shah has claimed that the police have killed eight dacoits so far and recovered several hostages.

Policemen chopped

Earlier, three police personnel had been abducted after the outlaws attacked a police armor van. The suspects killed chopped the policemen and shared the terrible video on social media platforms.

The local police made announcements from the megaphones, insisting the locals stay at home.

Owing to the poor law and order situation, the citizens remained confined to their homes.

Prime minister takes notice

Taking notice of the disorder, Prime Minister Imran Khan had sent Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed to take input from the law-enforcement agencies (LEAs) and submit a report.

Following this, the interior minister had reached the provincial capital Karachi on Wednesday and concurrently, the chief minister reached Shikarpur.

While speaking to the media at Jinnah International Airport (JIA), Sheikh Rasheed said that he was not on any mission but to compile a fact-based report as sought by the premier.

The interior minister will hold a press conference at 4 pm today after meeting heads of LEAs and Murad Ali Shah.
