Sindh government’s dubious policy amid upsurge in covid-19 cases in the province may degeneerate the situation in the coming weeks.
Ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr, the provincial government allowed business activities to continue until Saturday when they had been halted in rest of the country on Friday owing to countrywide lockdown from May 8 to 16.
The covid-19 test to positivity ratio in the province has almost doubled during the last 10 days.

On April 28, the ratio stayed around 7% while it jumped to 14% as recorded on May 7.
The data released by Al-Khidmat pathological laboratory has also sounded alarms about degenerating covid-19 situation in Sindh.
At the lab, the test-to-positivity ratio climbed to 40% on May 6 while it was recorded around 27% in Chughtai and Aga Khan laboratories.
Sindh health officials told some 33% of tests conducted at Dow lab returned positive while the ratio remained 21% in Karachi’s Civil hospital.
Still, the forthcoming situation hasn’t been apprehended well by the Sindh government as it allowed Youm-e-Ali processions on Ramazan 21 and Al-Quds rally on the last Friday of Ramazan which could ferment the situation of pathogen.

Ironically, Spokesperson Sindh Government Murtaza Wahab is urging the people to exercise caution and care, neglecting the role of his government that has put thousands of lives at risk with its decisions amid the recent upsurge in covid-19 cases.
