The latest figures of the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) show that the positivity rate in the country has reached 7.79% and more than 4,000 cases are being reported positive daily.

During the two-week lockdown, inter-city transportation will also remain banned and the exams have been postponed until the date.

Meanwhile, the health department is directed to adopt strict measures to get the public vaccinated.

Moreover, the government agrees to continue food delivery service but wedding halls will not hold events until further notice.

Whereas, all export-related industries will continue to operate at full capacity during the lockdown.

However, the decision has not been well-received by the business community of Karachi as it opines that the measures are going to harm them especially daily-wage workers.

Businessmen Group (BMG) Chairman Zubair Motiwala requested authorities to keep small traders, vendors, and shopkeepers out of the lockdown scope as they will otherwise struggle to survive.

NCOC Head Asad Umar has opposed the decision and said closure for weeks is not a proper solution. but they would cooperate.
