Dignified IBA Expelled Student For Reporting Harassment

IBA Expelled Student Harassment

Following the students’ protest, the Institute of Business Administration (IBA) has expelled Jibrail who had raised his voice against harassment of the disciplinary committee (DC).

Last week, Jibrail posted an eyewitness account of harassment on Facebook that backlashed as the Anti-Harassment Committee (AHC) of IBA made fun of him.

Soon after the video circulated on social media, the committee asked Jibrail to delete his post from Facebook and also post a public apology.

When the expelution news was confirmed, social activist Jibran Nasir reached out to his Twitter handle and questioned why the students were denied of their constitutional right to peaceful protest.

Moreover, former news anchor Rabia Anum also drew the attention of Federal Education Minister Shafqat Mahmood to take notice of the matter as the institution didn’t resolve the matter professionally.

According to IBA, the institution has strict disciplinary rules, policies, and the Code of Conduct which applies to all members of the faculty, staff, and students.

They added that since Jibrail has breached the rules and regulations, they decided to expel him to keep the norm prevailing.
