A shameful incident of mistreatment and scuffle with women took place in lift of DHA Phase 8 apartments in most expensive area of ​​Karachi. video of incident went viral on social media.

In 2018 election, Imran Abaro, son of Sindh Assembly member Aslam Abaro, who became a part of PPP after being elected on ticket of PTI, and his employee beat up women in presence of child after a dispute over entering the lift.

In CCTV footage of incident, it can be seen that 2 women and a child were already in elevator, so one person boarded elevator with a salve, after which more people tried to enter elevator.

Women who were already in elevator forbade others from boarding elevator due to lack of space, so parties started arguing. It can be seen in video that provocation and scuffle was initiated by women. MPA’s son and employee also raised their hands on women, slapped and punched them and strangled them.

Women were harassed by keeping them in the elevator for a long time. Later, the guards of the apartments reached the elevator after receiving the information about the incident, but the employee of Imran Abro stood at the door with the women kept in the elevator and kept pointing at them. Later, the guards intervened. He took the employee out and sent the women under his supervision.

According to Bureau Chief of Public News Karachi, Samar Abbas, MPA Aslam Abaro, after making peace with the victim, using his influence, filed a false case of shooting and murder against her husband Muhammad Adnan Rana and arrested him.

Social media users say that incidents of harassment of ordinary citizens and women by the ill-tempered rich in Defense and Clifton are increasing day by day. The Sindh government and police should make a lesson to the accused involved in such incidents by taking strict legal action instead of taking showy measures.
